Ganga Dusshera
The descent of Ganga is celebrated as Ganga Dusshera, which is falling on 1st of June this year. India is a country of festivals in fact 365 days of the year is celebrated. The Indian culture motivates us for constant state of celebration of life. Every day evolve with enthusiasm and positivity. The specific festival is combination of the universal energies, the graha & nakshtras and its influence on our body- mind system. Many least known festivals like Ganga Dusshera are of greater importance in our life, especially for the spiritual aspirants. The popular rituals of the festivals are an effort towards the evolution of our consciousness.
Jyestha shukla paksha Dashami tithi is the day celebrated as Ganga Dusshera. If we go deep into the date, actually this is the peak summer season, when climate is having high prana/heat, at physiological level the metabolic rate is higher at this period of time.
Now look at the Yogic view, different forces in our body is of vital importance for the awakening of chakras (psychic energy centres) & Kundalini. Out of all, 3 major forces are of greatest importance known as IDA the mental force, PINGALA the pranic force & SUSHMNA the spiritual force. These 3 forces are represented externally as Ganga, Yamuma & Saraswati and its meeting at Prayag is total dissolution means the Yoga. They actually stand as an external manifestation of the inner phenomenon of the kundalini awakening. So the GANGA is our Pingala Nadi the vital/ physical/ sympathetic nerve/ the left brain of logical mind.
The festival of Ganga Jayanti (30th April 2020) to Ganga Dusshera (1st June 2020) is a month dedicated to the awareness of this force within and descent of Ganga for the awakening of Pingala force the Surya - Nadi responsible for the human evolution from instinct to the intuition.
